This course is run over two years. The students have a set of design tasks involving Child Development. The students are required to study a young child and map its progress and developmental stages.

The course consists of modules which deal with each aspect of Child development from birth to pre-school age. Their intellectual, physical and cognitive development is learnt about and then tested in one of two written papers. The students then have to undergo two Controlled Assessments over the two years of the course in year 10 and 11.
