Asthma

This year Austen will be supporting Asthma UK. Our House Day will be on Wednesday 16 December. Students will be able to wear something green and get involved with the fundraising activities on that day.  All monies raised will go towards improving the care, support and quality of life for the 5.4 million people in the UK living with asthma.

History of Austen...

Jane Austen is regarded as one of the finest ever literary figures.

She was born in Steventon, Hampshire and spent the last eight years of her life in the village of Chawton, near Alton in Hampshire. She is buried at Winchester Cathedral.

Jane was rejected lot of times when trying to get her books published, but she persevered.

She was known for her humour and social commentary.

She challenged stereotypes – her character, Elizabeth Bennett, in ‘Pride and Prejudice’ is intelligent and quick witted.

It isnt what we say or think that defines us, but what we do.
